Joining Date Calculator
Find your new job's joining date from your last working day at a previous job plus a gap, adjusted onto a working day if the target date falls on a weekend or holiday.
Enter a notice start date.
Next step: Last Working Day Calculator
How it works
Enter your last working day at a previous job and how long the gap before your new role starts. The calculator adds that gap forward using the same calendar-day, business-day, and month rules as the Notice Period Calculator.
If the resulting target date falls on a weekend or an excluded holiday, it shifts to the nearest working day—before or after, depending on which adjustment you choose—using the same logic as the Last Working Day Calculator, just applied going forward instead of backward.
Business-day mode and the US federal holiday option use the same shared rules as the other Employment cluster calculators, so results stay consistent across DateToolsHQ.
Common uses
Confirming a new job's official start date, planning a career-break gap between roles, and coordinating onboarding paperwork around a working-day joining date.
New job start date
Confirm the actual joining date when an offer letter states a gap from your last working day rather than a fixed date.
Career-break planning
Plan a one or two week break between jobs and see the resulting working-day joining date.
Onboarding coordination
Pair with the Employment Duration Calculator once you've joined to track length of service from the confirmed date.

FAQ
- How do I calculate my joining date?
- Enter your last working day at a previous job and the gap length and unit before your new role starts. The calculator adds the gap forward and adjusts onto a working day if needed.
- How is this different from the Last Working Day Calculator?
- Same underlying math—a length added to a reference date, adjusted onto a working day—applied in the opposite direction: forward from a last working day to a new joining date, instead of backward from a notice date to a last working day.
- Is this an official joining date?
- No. Offer letters and HR policies vary—use this for planning and confirm the official joining date with your new employer.
